In the water
Sailing
On the sea, a bay, or a lake.
- 1Boats race around marks on the water.
- 2The wind pushes the sails.
- 3You must leave each mark on the right side.
- 4Right of way rules stop boats from bumping.
Score. The first boats earn the best race scores. A series adds those scores up.
Win. The boat with the best score across the races wins. In one race, first to finish within the rules wins.
Sailors lean out of the boat to keep it steady. That move is called hiking.
